It's been a curious time of stillness and pause which has really intensified visual awareness for me. I sometimes to feel like I've been swept away by a tornado and ended up in a brilliant technicolour world like the magical land of Oz! I've never been so aware of the colour and shape of the things around me at home, in the garden and on walks and cycle rides by the river and through woods and fields. There is so much richness in the aura of a heat haze, the velvety-ness of a twilight, or the flame of a poppy. Inside the house, there's been time to notice the shine, texture and curve of a pot or the bloom on a flower. These 8 works capture this odd situation for me-by being forced to turn my gaze inward, I have never seen things so vividly.
