the devil. The signs of fertility are contained in the pink smearing of marks and blossom. This garden of Eden is on fertile ground. The dark blue’s, mauve’s and purple add depth to the bright pink blossoms. My oil paintings document subconscious impulses through instinctual, energetic forms: some figures, some animal, I like to create marks through a use of vivid colour and paint application. The dark indigo shadow bird is integral to the painting’s atmosphere as it seeks to draw out a strong emotional, psychological and physical response from the viewer.
