The cover of Vogue magazine was designed by Paul Maze to commemorate The Silver Jubilee of George V on 6 May 1935, marking 25 years of his reign.
"A French artist who was in London on Jubilee Day spent a very busy time on the steps of the Queen Victoria Monument outside Buckingham Palace painting the scene of pageantry before him. The artist Paul Maze was once described as so quick a worker that he painted in shorthand. Away from the Jubilee crowds he has completed his painting of the procession and spectators and it will be on view at an exhibition this week."
