The artist comments: "The Grenfell Madonna features some strutting, selfie-taking vultures, trauma-tourists, perhaps while the shrill public demand for correct displays emotion are met by some handy standby Madonnas. Overly sceptical, you may think, but the register changes as you move up the pot. Vultures are also sacred birds, charged with task of disposing of the dead and releasing their souls – seen here taking flight from the blackened tower. "
