“Jockeys and stablemen apart, the only man not in morning dress in the paddock at Ascot was Mr Paul Maze, the well-known artist, who had come down there for four days of real hard work. Almost breathlessly he was painting the scene and it will interest me to see which celebrities are in the finished picture. Notabilities passed in and out in a never-ending procession of two-way traffic, so Mr Maze would have had a considerably easier task had he provided himself with a moving picture camera instead of a canvas and brushes”
