Famed for his acute observations of contemporary life and society through his art, Perry is an artist comfortable in many different media, including ceramic, printmaking and tapestry, Perry was awarded the Turner Prize in 2003 and in 2008 was ranked number 32 in The Daily Telegraph’s list of the “100 most powerful people in British culture”.
During the Covid 19 pandemic, Perry presented Grayson’s Art Club from his home studio with his wife Philippa, encouraging viewers to produce and share their own artworks from lockdown. During this time Perry created “England as seen from Lockdown in Islington” in 2021 to highlight the joy and solace of making art. Perry was knighted in the New Year’s Honours List in 2023.
