Where Mathematics Meets Art
Kathleen Hyndman was a British artist renowned for merging mathematics with abstract art. Drawing inspiration from natural forms and mathematical structures like the Fibonacci sequence, her geometric compositions create dynamic, harmonious visuals that tell captivating stories. Works such as Sunshine and Tree (1983) and 4 Fibonacci Units; Counterpointed Colours (2000) showcase her mastery of using geometry and colour to explore balance and symmetry.
Join us at the Mathematical Institute, Oxford, from 28th February to explore a selection of her groundbreaking works.
